Why the Emergent Church Doesn’t Suck
By admin • Nov 22nd, 2008 • Category: FeaturedScot McKnight wrote a really interesting article in Christianity Today about the Emerging church, how it differs from the Emergent Village, and why people shouldn’t make such a fuss over it. I have been reading a lot on the Emerging church movement from a non-biased perspective and I really like what they have to say. In practicality and form, I think it has a lot to offer our generation. Some people though, like in all religious movements, have gone way too far in one direction. Does that mean the whole thing is crap? I don’t think so at all, and I get so irritated when people spout out these ignorant things they heard their pastor or father say without thinking them through.
Read the article, I think it will help give you a broader understanding of what the Emerging movement is, what it is not, and how it might even be a positive shift in the church today.
